This year, I was so proud of myself for planting them all on their side but didn't consider the helum up/down factor. I planted all helum up. None of this kept the French Beans from rotting in the copious amounts of Seattle rain. I don't have a method with planting my beans...they just get shoved in the pots and I hope for the best. I have had to do it three times already this year. First I had dud seed, then the next lot got killed in the frost...third time lucky hopefully!!allotments4youhttp://www.allotments4you.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8385309188349657993.post-50704184740882067322011-05-14T09:35:54.800+01:002011-05-14T09:35:54.800+01:00Excellent, I am going to go back to just bunging t...Excellent, I am going to go back to just bunging them any which way.Janet/Plantaliscioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15605580157193047780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8385309188349657993.post-91102176036713287222011-05-14T06:52:36.185+01:002011-05-14T06:52:36.185+01:00Interesting. I was always led to believe to sow the bean on its side and l have never had problems with germination. Guess there is no right or wrong to this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8385309188349657993.post-57133652801956895872011-05-11T20:47:50.915+01:002011-05-11T20:47:50.915+01:00Hi Mal, popping back to enlist your help as an Edi...Hi Mal, popping back to enlist your help as an Edinburgher.
