Autumn -- Noooooo

In fact the weather has been nice but the nights cold. Looks like green tomato chutney this year!

  1. I stopped growing tomatoes when I realised I made more green tomato chutney than I ate in red fruit! Yes, cold nights here too, and the leaves are turning now. Let's hope we get a few weeks of mostly sunny weather to help everything along.

  2. There's still chance for the tomatoes to ripen, we've had some glorious sunshine here this week. The leaves on the blueberry plants are turning a gorgeous red colour though so that shows that autumn is on it's way.

  3. The temperatures are really dropping on a night - just hope the dahlias survive a while longer - latest we've had then starting to produce flowers!

  4. We are also having colder nights lately. But days are pretty warm.
I was reading that tomatoes need temperatures above 50F (10C) to start turning red. I am not sure if this is the average daily temperature they need, or lowest during night...
