Seen any daffodils yet?

It's Mothers Day and I hear there is a daff crisis. Have you seen any flowering trumpets yet?

The snowdrops have been out for ages and the crocus-s have joined them but not one daff yet.

Happy Mothers Day Mum!

  5. I think that second cold snap was to blame, ours are just budding. The park's usually full of kids picking bunches for their Mums to-day. I give them a look but I don't really mind as it saves me dead-heading.Loved the picture, b.t.w.

  8. Our tete-a-tetes are now flowering but the daffodils are only just forming buds here on the South Coast. Although there is a garden right on the seafront that has daffodils fully out but they're the only ones we've seen...they look wonderful and I wish ours would get a wriggle on!

  11. Hi everyone. So first sighting on the south coast (even if a neighbour's, Nina).

Please do let me know when they do first appear 'in the wild' around your patch. We could track the progress of the season from south to north. Last year I remember driving from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and noticing how much less further on they were as you went north. This Easter we're off to Thurso (Think John 'o Groats - it's next door) but I expect they'll be well out by then, even up there - I'll let you know.

  13. Yes first sighting yesterday of daffodils on grass verges, I guess this weeks sun has egged them on a bit!
For anyone still craving that spring yellow I've put a picture of my tete-a-tetes up on my blog to share.

(same southcoast nina - different blog!)
