  2. Well it doesn't seem like it's going to get you very far Mal but at least you have been heard now. Maybe others will come forward. I also thought you were a Malcolm!!

So from what I can understand, the idea of raising the fees means that a lot of people can't afford it anymore and they leave their plots, this means more plots are available for other people that want them and thus reduces the waiting times. Bloody brilliant idea.. NOT. That's the kind of thing they do down South not up there in Scotland. My fees were £10 (sorry) would you like to move down here?

  4. Liz, I have to agree with your analysis of the motivation for this. Economists just LOVE the Law of Supply and Demand. The worrying thing is that the allotment association has so enthusiastically taken up cause of driving down the waiting list for the Council (using the bludgeon of increased rents against its members).
