Everything's coming up... Beans?

Here are some happy beans. They are part of an experiment but they are none the wiser. If only they knew. They should be looking at those innocuous labels...

...and that sinister board

Experimental results will follow soon.

And from the wild, what can trump these hawthorn flowers?

(There are miles of hawthorn hedgerow along the Union Canal  between Edinburgh and Falkirk. Just now it looks amazing)

  3. Love the hawthorn too. Once, when I was very little, I brought a bunch of it home and my granny had conniptions and wouldn't let me bring it in the house cos she believed it was such bad luck, equal only to shoes on the table and girls whistling!

  5. We have lots of hawthorn nedging around our site. Birds often plant hawthorn seeds on the plot one of which I trained into a tree - it all looks lovely at the moment. I don't think you can beat elderflower either.

  6. Those look like happy beans! And a pretty photo of Hawthorn too. Hawthorn is normally in bloom by this time of year too here, however, this cold spring has pushed it off a bit. Cheers, Jenni
